Connect an exchange
Your exchange account will be connected through SnapTrade, and you will know what that connection can do.
Turtle Terminal connects to Kraken, Coinbase and Binance through SnapTrade. You log in to your exchange in SnapTrade's window; we never see your exchange password.
Steps
- In the terminal, open the account menu and choose Connect.
- Pick your exchange. SnapTrade's Connection Portal opens.
- Log in to your exchange there and approve the connection.
- You come back to Turtle Terminal and your accounts import on their own.
The first sync fills your positions, balances and recent orders. After that your account is re-checked within 60 seconds of every change.
What the connection can do
- Read your balances, positions, orders and fills.
- Place and cancel the orders you make in Turtle Terminal, after your rules have checked them.
What it can't do
- Hold your crypto. It stays in your exchange account.
- Stop orders you place at the exchange directly. Those aren't checked; they appear in your journal as Placed outside.
What you can trade
| Exchange | Spot | Margin |
|---|---|---|
| Kraken | Yes | Yes |
| Coinbase | Yes | No |
| Binance | Yes | Yes |
Futures, perpetuals and options aren't supported. Availability depends on your exchange and where you live. See Exchanges.
Live trading
A connected account shows as Live when it holds real money. To place orders on it, turn on live trading in Settings → Profile. Until then, the account is read-only in Turtle Terminal.
