Place an order
You will have placed an order that your rules checked before it was sent.
Every order you place in Turtle Terminal is checked against your rules before it's sent to your exchange.
Steps
- In Terminal, choose a pair: type it in the ticket, or click it in Markets.
- Choose Buy or Sell.
- Enter the amount.
- Choose the order type. For a limit or stop order, enter the price.
- Read the room check above the button. It shows what this order would do to your rules.
- Press the button. It names the order: Buy BTC, Sell ETH at 3,200.
The button reads Placed for two seconds and the ticket clears. A resting limit or stop order appears in Activity → Orders, where you can cancel it.
When the button says something else
| Button | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Review | A rule in Warn mode fired. Review the warning, then Place anyway or go back. |
| Blocked by… | A rule in Block mode stops this order. It isn't sent. |
| Place with a note | The blocking rules allow you to go ahead with a note. |
| Kill switch is on | Every order is blocked, including closes. |
| Opening is paused | Your account data is out of date. Closing still works. |
| Exchange unreachable | Your exchange isn't answering. Closing at the exchange still works. |
After you press
The server checks the order again with a fresh price, and its answer wins. Pressing twice or reloading never places the same order twice.
If your exchange rejects the order, the ticket shows the exchange's own reason. If the exchange doesn't confirm it, the ticket says so: check your orders at the exchange before trying again.
An order sent to an exchange can't be undone. A resting order can be cancelled.
